Obituary for Timothy J. Bates
Timothy J. Bates, age 55, of Belleville, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Mar-Ka Nursing Home in Mascoutah. He was born April 23, 1963 in Islip, NY, the son of the late Floyd and Joan (Rochford) Bates.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Striano-Bates, whom he married June 21, 1986. Also surviving are his sons: Michael J. Bates, Matthew D. Bates and Maxwell C. Bates, all of Belleville; and his dear friends: Joyell and Craig Green, Fred and Clare Widel and Andy and Chrissy Platts.
Mr. Bates was an attorney. He also was a professor at St. Louis University and Southwestern Illinois College (formerly Belleville Area College.) He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Belleville.
Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
