Margaret L. Magnan, of Fairview Heights, IL, formerly of Centralia, IL, died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at The Arbors at Parkway Gardens in Fairview Heights. She was born August 30, 1922 in Racine, WI, the daughter of the late Clarence and Louise (Herchen) Asquith. She married Richard Magnan. He preceded her in death December 18, 2000.

She is survived by four children: Rock (Rhonda) Magnan of Los Gatos, CA, Anne (Roger) Wright of The Villages, FL, Laurie (Dave) Nelson of Belleville and Bob Magnan of Bridgeport, IL; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Brian and Brent Nelson; and a brother, Deane Asquith.

Mrs. Magnan was a registered nurse and a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centralia, IL.

Visitation will be held January 15th, 2018, beginning at 9 AM at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Shiloh, IL, immediately followed by a memorial mass at 10 AM. A private burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc.; Operation Shoebox or The Arbors at Parkway Gardens - Music Therapy Program in her memory.
