I met Antonia again after many years when we came to America in 2006. we had a great time in Springfield and I also met the entire family, which was lovely. Antonia was so welcoming and invited everyone to her house. In the last 10 years she phoned several times and asked if I could come over again but unfortunately I wasn't able to. I remember Antonia giving me a lift when I started boarding school in Meppen. This is also the place where she met her husband Theo. If anyone of the Bernardy family is coming to Germany, you are always welcome to stay at my place. I am thinking of you all at this sad time. our family met Toni after Mass one Sunday as we shared donuts with her and listened to her stories! We grew in love, prayer and friendship with her in the next few years. we miss you Toni. know of our prayers.

Toni and I worked together in the St.John's MBU for many years and became close friends since we worked the 11-7 shift,knew each others' families and were like family ourselves. I went to that special birthday party the family had for her at Baur's and she made me stollens and gave me German articles. We kept in contact after retirement and I shall always remember her. It is with deep sadness that I learned of her passing but now she is in a better place and finally at peace. My sympathy to all family members.

Dear Family, a very sad event! I remember Antonia always as Karl’s very lively and well informed and interesting aunt. I enjoyed her company very much when we came to Springfield. It was always interesting to talk to her and she seemed to be open for understanding new things around her. It was very nice when she visited us early 2001 in Cologne. Our thoughts are with you! Antonia lived across the street from me for over forty years. She and her husband Theo were very kind. At Christmas she would call and bring over treats including homemade stollen and chocolate.
